BLOOD DONATION CAMP

Blood Donation Camp is an annual event conducted on 3rd March every year which is our founder Mr.Jamshetji Tata's Anniversary. Community Development Committees, both at Borivali & Tarapur make the most of this occasion by collecting large number of blood bottles. In Borivali plant, 75 bottles were collected with the help of Bhagvati Hospital Blood Bank; whereas in three plants at Tarapur viz. TWP, WRM CRC west, 208 bottles of blood were collected with the help of Sion Hospital Blood Bank. In case of emergency, our employees will have no difficulty in getting blood for the patients.

Community Development Committee wishes to thank all Blood Donors on this occasion.

 

 

SAFETY DAY CELEBRATION AT
TATA STEEL- WIRE DIVISION

The 35th National Safety Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Tata Steel Wire Division - Borivali as well as Tarapur on 4th March 2006. On this occasion Safety Flag was hoisted by Mr. Harish Pathak, EIC at BWP and Mr. P. W. Prabhu-Chief, TWP at Tarapur. Safety Banners were displayed at prominent location and safety badges were worn by all employees, contract workmen and visitors alike.

The program continued by releasing of Safety Policy and Safety Principle by Mr. Harish Pathak, EIC and Chief Guest Mr. S. C. Gawli - Dy. Director-DISH at BWP and by Mr. P. W. Prabhu-Chief, TWP at Tarapur.

Identity Badges were handed over to Safety Committee members and safety commandos by Mr. Rajiv Mangal, Chief, Technical Services.

Safety poem created by Mr.  U. S. Mishra was presented to the gathering.

On this occasion Mr. Harish Pathak, EIC expressed his views on accident prevention and achieving best safety standards. Mr. Nandu Khanvilkar, Union Secretary spoke on workers involvement in safety activities and co-operation in preventing accidents.

Mr. P. R. Raste-Chief, HR/IR & Admn. and Mr. S. C.Gawali-
Dy. Director-DISH also conveyed the safety message and motivated employees to participate in suggestions drive.

At the end, Safety Oath was administered by Mr. Sunil Gracius, Safety Commando and Mr. P. R. Raste, Chief, HR/IR & Admn.

A safety parade was taken after the function to collect suggestions by reaching out to individual employees. It got a good support and within 3 hours 180 suggestions were collected.
