MARCH 8, 2006 WOMEN’S DAY
CELEBRATIONS AT TATA STEEL WIRE DIVISION

Today in a globalised world, we hear the term “governance” being used more and more. Governance is the process of decision-making and the process by which decisions are implemented or not implemented. When women ask for increased participation in all spheres, what they seek is to ensure that good governance is achieved by all those involved in this process.

More than 40 ladies from TSWD celebrated Women's Day with the theme on SOLIDARITY and the caption :

WHAT IS YOUR ROLE AS A WOMAN
IN YOUR WORK PLACE!

Our EIC, Mr. Harish Pathak with Senior Executives inaugurated and participated in the program initially, to give the ladies an insight, into their thinking about the role of women in general. This set the ball rolling with ladies giving their own version on what Women's Day meant for them.
The ladies participated wholeheartedly in discussing their various roles as Women and quite a few new thoughts emerged.

It was wonderful to see so many of our lady employees eager to be part of this program. We ended with fellowship and lunch at Taarangan.
