Annual Pooja Day
  

This year the Annual Pooja Celebrations commenced one week in advance with installation of coloured lighting in the factory premises and at the Devi Mandir area. 26th January 2006 was celebrated in grand style with Pooja and offering at the Devi Mandir. Our main celebrants this year comprised of Mr. Vijay Kamble, Secretary, Shramik Utkarsha Sabha, Mr. Mokal, President, Shramik Utkarsha Sabha, Mr. Nandu Khanwilkar Secretary, Union Committee, Mr. SN Kadam President, Union Committee representing the Union and Mr. Harish Pathak, Executive In Charge and Mr. DS Sawant, Head, HR/IR from Management side. Officers, staff and workmen came in large numbers to this program.

The whole atmosphere gave a festive look with bright coloured lights. People thronged the factory for Devi Mata's Darshan and then made a beeline to the various stalls having eatables and sweets. The latter part of the evening was made up of a cultural program with our very own person from the factory Mr. Khambe who has his own cultural troupe. This was much appreciated by the audience.

All in all, a fine ending to 26th January and we look forward to grander celebrations next year.

Mr. Vikas Sakharam Shinde T. No. 6709 works in Mechanical Maintenance Department, Tarapur Wire Plant. Mr.Vikas has neither taken a single leave for last two years nor remained absent for any single day. He is a 'Multiskilled' craftsman working in all areas and operating all machines in Tarapur Wire Plant. He has not met with an accident while working in the plant till this day.
Vikas was deputed at National Standard Duncan for two months to set the plant at Banglore.

Mr. Vikas was awarded “BEST ATTENDANCE AWARD” with memento & holiday home package on 26th Jan 2006 by our EIC and Chief HR/IR & Admn. at Tarapur.
Bravo Vikas! We are really proud of you. You have set an example for all co-workmen.

Mr. Nandu Khanvilkar, Union Secretary is unanimously selected as a Secretary of Greater Bombay Body Builders’ Association. This selection was done on 28th December 2005 for five years.

Mr. M S SHAIKH Head Inbound, has successfully completed MBA course in Materials Management (Supply Chain Management), conducted by IIMM (Indian Institute of Materials Management) in association with M P Bhoj University.

He has obtained an aggregate of 70% marks in the Final Year Examinations, which is a great achievement specially as this was accomplished in spite of the hectic work schedule as Head-Inbound.

Mr. M S Shaikh expressed his deep gratitude towards the Management of Tata Steel Wire Division, who not only encouraged and motivated him but also granted Financial assistance for the above studies.

Mr. Ashish Keshwani son of G.S.Keshwani, Head Quality System EPA Business participated in the National level inter college quiz and Poster competition “GENERATION 2006” organized by school of Biosciences and Bioengineering IIT Mumbai. He won the 3rd prize among the 68 participants from all over India in Poster Competition. The topic for the poster competition was “ADVANCES IN MEDICAL IMAGING”

He is studying in 4th year Bio Medical Engineering at Thadomal Shahni Engineering College Bandra, Mumbai.

Mr. V.C.Trickur, Mr. J.S.Malshe, Mr. Amar Marathe, Mr. R. Menon and Ms. Mridula, have Successfully completed Lead Auditor's course conducted by TQMI Mumbai. We hope that these achievers will help us maintain quality standard in Wire Division.
