Christmas and New Year Celebrations at Tarangan

On December the 26th, we, the residents of Tarangan got together for Christmas Party. Both the children and adults were looking eagerly to this event.

The elegant Christmas tree in the compound was all lit up with colourful lights and contributed to the joyful spirit of the residents of
Tarangan setting the tempo for the enjoyable evening.

The children very enthusiastically prepared for the carol singing event and raised their mellifluous voices to serenade all of us that day with the popular and best loved carols.

The Santa Claus came to distribute gifts to the children, who were all very happy to see him. Yummy cake served at the end of the party completed the joy of the evening.

Mrs. Shruti Pathak graciously agreed to be the Chief Guest at this show and it gave us distinct pleasure to have her in our midst.

New Year's eve was celebrated with equal if not greater gusto. The large gathering came together on the terrace and one could sense the excitement on that chilly evening. The inviting music in the background was enough incentive for the children, who danced without inhibition. As they set the ball rolling, the adults found it difficult to stay away from all the action and before long the dance floor was inundated with couples merrily swaying in to the music of all the latest musical hits.

There was great anticipation as we waited for the clock to reach the magical 12th hour of the evening to end the year 2005. The New Year 2006 was welcomed with great zest by one and all while looking forward to the opportunities and challenges this year would create for us. Our EIC and his family also joined in the fun.

Prizes were announced for the best dancers and gifts were presented by Mrs. Shruti Pathak, Mr. Harish Pathak and Mr. Kumar Nair.

I guess that the best part about parties at Tarangan is, it always creates memories that will last a lifetime, while reminding us that we are family with ties of camaraderie.
