Dear Friends

In the last issue of Taar Sansar I had mentioned about setback we had due to heavy rains and conditions arising thereafter. I must mention here that though we have recovered from the plant related problems caused by rains, we are still struggling on the market front. In such a condition we have to concentrate more on quality, yield and cost reduction. The new initiative, Theory of Constraints, will provide us some solution on this front. I request you all to support this initiative as you have done in past for every other activity.

Let us not forget that 'Safety’ is a concern that keeps me occupied all the time. We have long way to achieve zerio accident. Avoid unsafe action at all times and use safety equipments without any hesitation.

By the time you get a copy of this issue Dassera should be bygone. Our greatest festival Diwali is ahead of us. Let me wish you all a happy prosperous and safe Diwali and New Year.

QUALITY CIRCLES TRUMPH

Quality circle is one of the initiatives we have institutionalised since 1997.

It has worked well for the organisation, giving dividends through various projects to the company. But the greatest advantage we have earned through this initative has always been "development of the people." This is seen through the Quality Circle Conventions, in house as well as outside the company, through Quality Circle Fourm of India.

This year's Chapter Convention was held by QCFI Mumbai Chapter on 30th September in Damodar Hall, Mumbai. In all four Circles, two from Borivali Wire Plant and two from Tarapur Wire Plant participated in Convention. All the Circles made a very good presentation and two of them scored well above the others.

  Visual presentation for Support Service stream.
• Quality Circle Nai Disha stood 2nd in oral presentation for Support Services.

These two Circles are nominated for the National Convention to be held at Ernakulam, Kerala in December 2005.
